Get in Touch

This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, retrieve an official booking record, or act for a court or agency. Contact the record-holding office below for an official answer.

Official Record Contacts

Choose the office by the kind of information needed. Current custody, a past arrest report, a municipal police report, and a court disposition are separate records with separate custodians. These official contacts were checked during research on August 28, 2026. Confirm them again before travel or a request because agency details can change.

Ulster County Sheriff’s Office

Ulster County Sheriff’s Office
380 Boulevard
Kingston, NY 12401
Main: (845) 338-3640
Corrections and current-custody reporting: (845) 340-3644
Email: sheriff@co.ulster.ny.us

For a current custody status or notification, begin with the official Incarcerated Individuals Search/VINE portal. New York VINE also lists the custody-notification line as 1-888-VINE-4-NY (1-888-846-3469). These tools reflect current custody, not a final court outcome. For a multi-day arrest record, check the Sheriff’s weekly Arrest Reports archive.

Sheriff Records and FOIL

For a specific arrest, corrections, or booking-photo request, use the County’s FOIL information hub and the current Sheriff FOIL request form. The form distinguishes Criminal (Arrests) from Corrections (Incarcerations), asks for identifying and document details, and lists copies at $0.25 per page. It says a fee letter is sent before payment and copies are sent after payment.

A written FOIL appeal must be made within 30 days to: FOIL Appeals Hearing Officer, Ulster County Executive’s Office, 244 Fair Street, PO Box 1800, Kingston, NY 12402. The form lists a response within 10 business days for an appeal. It does not promise a fixed completion time for a photograph request.

Court Disposition

For the result after an arrest, contact the Ulster County Clerk’s certificate-of-disposition service: 244 Fair Street, 2nd Floor, Kingston, NY 12401; (845) 340-3040; weekdays 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. The Clerk lists a $5 certificate fee and an approximate 7 to 10 day process. That fee applies to a court disposition certificate, not to a Sheriff photo request.

Where to Look First

The most useful route depends on the question. Use an agency record as the authority, then ask the agency to correct an error or provide the record it holds.

  • Current custody or an alert: use the Sheriff’s live VINE portal. A person released from the county facility may no longer appear there.
  • Recent county arrest history: use the Sheriff’s weekly archive. It is a dated record index, not a live feed.
  • Municipal police reporting: Kingston publishes separate daily and arrest blotter directories. Saugerties has no verified public arrest-photo roster, and New Paltz’s monthly reports are not a same-day booking feed.
  • A final case outcome: request a certificate of disposition from the County Clerk. A roster or arrest report does not establish the outcome in court.
  • State-prison custody: use the official NYS DOCCS incarcerated-individual lookup. For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator.
